Supreme Mac and Cheese

For the perfect homemade mac and cheese recipe, look no further! This makes a meal everyone will love.


  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups (8oz) Crystal Farms Shredded Mac & Cheese
  • 3 cups (12oz) pasta (penne, ziti, macaroni, etc.)
  • 5 1/2 tbsps Crystal Farms® butter
  • 2 tsps salt
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs, optional
  • 1 small yellow onion, fine diced optional


  • In a medium sauce pan over medium-high heat melt 5 tbsp. of the butter with the salt (optional: sauté onions until translucent).
  • Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Slowly add the milk about ½ cup additions, whisking smooth after each addition.
  • Bring to a simmer and add full 8oz. package of cheese and whisk until smooth.
  • Cook pasta according to package to al dente. Drain and add the cheese sauce to the pasta. Transfer to a buttered 8’ x 8’ casserole dish.
  • If desired, toss bread crumbs with the remaining ½ tbsp. of butter and sprinkle over the top. Bake at 425 F for 15 minutes or until golden brown on top. Serve hot.
